This
is one of the most common questions we are asked,
as Myotherapists we specialise in assessing, treating
and managing the soft tissue structures within the
body including the muscles. Myotherapists do this
to stop or reduce pain, prevent injuries and correct
damage. Myotherapy is similar to Physiotherapy and
Osteopathy in that we treat similar conditions and
symptoms however Myotherapy varies a lot in treatment
methods. It is not for us to explain the principles
behind the other therapies however Myotherapy :
- Specialises in the muscle, tendons
ligaments and fascia
- Can assess joint and boney conditions/dysfunction
- Consultations are one on one
for the entire time
- Tailored treatments for each
individual - as gentle or strong as required
- The nervous, circulatory and
skeletal systems often benefit from Myotherapy treatments
- Myotherapists refer to other
therapists when needed
At Bendigo Myotherapy we provide
the highest quality patient care making certain ample
time for assessment and treatment is provided. Consultations
are approximately forty-five minutes in duration;
the practitioner spends the entire time one on one
with the client.
Bendigo Myotherapy recognises that no one therapist
or therapy can fix every problem. If your condition
is one that Myotherapy can not fix entirely, we can
still help you reach your health goals through our
extensive network of allied health professionals ensuring
the comprehensive management of conditions and accelerated
recovery.
Some of these include :
- Osteopathy
- Physiotherapy
- Exercise Therapists
- Chinese Medicine
- Naturopathy
- Podiatry
- Doctors
How to Know Who to See
Deciding which therapists to see
for your pain can be very difficult as self diagnosis
is often unreliable.
A
helpful tip is; if heat helps ease your
Pain or Symptom it is more likely to be
muscular in origin, so you are best off
seeing someone who specialises in treating
the muscles…. such as a myotherapist.
